SHOCK BODIES

Bodies are easily identified by their overall length, coating (color) and thread type. Fox uses two types of threads described below:

Acme thread - Coarse threads on length of the shock body. These threads are used for adjuster nuts to set spring pre-load and body cap.

Standard thread - Finer thread on outside of the shock body. It is only threaded long enough to hold the body cap (.562").

GOLD BODIES

Bold Part Number - Body has a groove to accept Plastic Spring Guide. If your shock body is worn from the spring rubbing on it, it can be replaced with a body that has a groove to accept one of these guides to eliminate wear.
